En el seu quadern de notes sobre "La Gravetat i la Gràcia", la filòsofa i sindicalista Simone Weil reflexionava:"No jutjar. Tots els defectes són iguals. Només hi ha un defecte: la mancança de la facultat d'alimentar-se de llum. Donat que, abolida aquesta facultat, tots els defectes són possibles. "El meu aliment és fer la voluntat d'Aquell que m'envia" (Jn 4, 34). No existeix cap altre bé al marge d'aquesta facultat" ("La Gravedad y la Gracia". Edit. Trotta)Respecte a "coses" com Déu, la Bondat i la Bellesa les persones som com una planta que no pot fer res més que esperar a que surti un raig de llum per alimentar la seva ànima.
